HEAT EXCHANGER CLEANING
HEAT has developed superior methods and procedures for cleaning heat exchangers and condensers to achieve maximum efficiency. HEAT inspects each unit so that blockages and improperly plugged tubes can be detected, marked and repaired. Regular maintenance of heat exchangers and condensers should include cleanings to keep equipment operating most efficiently.
Key Benefits of Tube Cleaning Heat Exchangers and Condensers
- More efficient steam cycle
- Lowered heat rate
Capabilities
HEAT can clean your heat exchanger or condenser tubes using many different methods. The method will depend primarily on the nature of the deposits. Typical downtime for heat exchanger cleaning is less than a week, but most jobs can be cleaned and returned in one to two days if required. We maintain a large inventory of cleaning equipment and can respond quickly.
Cleaning Methods:
Brushes
Using a compressed air / water mixture, HEAT will propel stiff bristle brushes through the tubes to remove mud and soft deposits.
Scrapers
Using high-pressure water, HEAT will shoot scrapers through the tubes to remove hard scale. HEAT has the ability to adjust the tension of the scraper blades to insure minimal damage to the tubes during cleaning, thereby extending the life of the tube.
Hydro blast / Hydrolaze
Using as much as 40,000 psig water, HEAT will descale and clean difficult deposits from tube walls. This method will remove all scale or deposits from the unit. This method is similar to power washing, but it is much more powerful.
Rotating Mechanical Brushes and Scrapers
For smaller heat exchangers, HEAT uses equipment similar to Thomas C. Wilson’s “WILS-AWAY” equipment to remove scale. Scrapers or brushes are driven with a high-speed motor with a flexible cable to remove and flush debris from your tubes.
Price Quotes
HEAT supervisors and foremen have years of hands-on experience to recommend the most cost-effective method to clean your heat exchanger or condenser. Please contact us to discuss how HEAT can best serve your needs. HEAT will be able to give you firm price quotes for heat exchanger or condenser cleaning if the following information is available:
- Number of tubes
- Length of tubes
- Outside diameter of tubes
- Wall thickness
- Tube material
