TUBULAR AIR HEATER REPAIR
The proper operation of your tubular air heater unit will ensure the efficient operation of the entire boiler system. An air heater with tube damage will allow clean air to exit through the exhaust plenum and chimney, greatly reducing the efficiency of the boiler. In extreme cases, the forced draft fan will not generate sufficient head to move clean air through the boiler.
Key Benefits
- Reduced emissions and increased fuel efficiency
- Proper operation of forced and induced draft fans
- Decreased cleaning costs
Air heater leakage problems could lead to inefficient combustion and increased plant emissions and fuel usage. Installing sleeves or new tubes will rectify the problem.
A benefit to ensuring the air heater is sound guarantees that the forced and induced draft fans operate within their designed range. Operation of these fans outside the manufacturing specifications will lead to degraded fan performance and additional repair and maintenance costs.
If your air heater is not properly maintained, the amount of fly ash in the air systems will increase, resulting in increased cleaning costs and air duct damage.
HEAT has developed special techniques for repairing tubular air heaters. These repairs include:
- Metal Inserts: Expansion of metal inserts into tubes to repair holes or combat erosion
- Coupling: Installing couplings to allow new tube sections to be installed.
- Retubing: Performing complete retubing services.
